Wise Words From A Woman I Love

Next week I’m working on a brand new writing project. I’m scared, I’m nervous, I fear that I’ll fail. My anxiety, the inner voice that thinks I’m terrible and won’t shut up about it, is trying to silence and stop me. But this, from the amazing Amy Poehler’s book Yes Please has reminded me that there’s nothing wrong with failing – you can only ever judge yourself for not trying.

Thank you to everyone who has been reading – just like Amy, you give me the courage and confidence to try.

“Great people do things before they’re ready. They do things before they know they can do it. Doing what you’re afraid of, getting out of your comfort zone, taking risks like that- that’s what life is. You might be really good. You might find out something about yourself that’s really special and if you’re not good, who cares? You tried something. Now you know something about yourself.”

  1. I’m even more inspired with this.
Sending positive energy and suppressing the inner peace of satisfaction.
You’ve encouraged me to explore new horizons and get my reluctant self from my Comfort zone.
    Thank you.
    Inspired to inspire.

  2. Great post! Failure is just an opportunity to learn and get better, it may not make us feel better, but it will help us to be successful! Thanks for sharing about Amy Poehler’ book, I’ll have to check it out.
